Bernard Carver was born in Lebanon, Beirut & then moved to Paris at 20 years of age, where he could give free reign to his passion for art & literature. There he became a bookseller & started painting. Carver's paintings are inspired by the city of Paris. is first canvases depicted the mythical monuments of the capital, which he can appreciate from his studio in St German des Prés. Bernard uses relief of several layers of materials that he superimposes on his canvases to play images. Influenced by impressionists, the artist uses pastel tones, acrylic painted sheets, fluorescent paint to give a poetic & luminous touch to his work. The materials are different & varied, giving each one of his creations a mysterious dimension which encompasses all of his work. Carver has participated in numerous exhibitions all around the world, including Salon of Louvre & Grand Palais.
